Emerging

ARTIST’S STORY

The clouds did not part for it. They simply could not contain it.

Mount Hood does not announce itself gradually. It rises from the Oregon landscape with the kind of authority that makes everything around it reconsider its own scale. On this particular day the clouds had gathered at the mountain's shoulders, pressing in from every side, filling the sky with their grey and turbulent weight. And through all of it, above all of it, the summit pushed upward into the light, snow covered and luminous and entirely unconcerned with what the weather was doing below.

I chose black and white because color would have been a distraction. What this image demanded was an honest account of form and light and the relationship between a mountain that has been standing for half a million years and a sky that changes every hour. The silver light on the snow covered face of the peak, the textured drama of the clouds pressing against its flanks, the dark layers of ridge and forest receding into the distance below, all of it needed to be seen without the softening influence of color. Raw and precise and completely itself.

There is something the mind does in the presence of a mountain this large and this singular. It stops its usual accounting. The weight of accumulated concern, the noise of unfinished business, the low grade anxiety that modern life produces so reliably, all of it becomes briefly and mercifully irrelevant in the face of something that has been emerging through storms like this one for longer than our species has had language to describe what we are seeing.

The clouds are temporary. The storm is temporary. The mountain is not.

Whatever you are pushing through right now, whatever is pressing in from the sides and obscuring the view and making the climb feel heavier than it should, this image carries one simple and unambiguous message. Keep going. The summit is already in the light. You simply have not cleared the clouds yet.

Emerging is not about a mountain. It is about what you become when you refuse to stop rising.

Collector's Choice

Collector Edition of 25 · Lumachrome TruLife Acrylic · Roma Elite Frame

This is the complete expression of the work. The image, the materials, and the frame exist not as separate components assembled for presentation but as a unified object designed to change how a room feels to be in.

The foundation is Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic, a chromogenic photographic medium that renders color, depth, and tonal range with a fidelity that conventional printing cannot approach. Light interacts with the image surface in a way that gives the work an inner presence, a quality of being illuminated from within.

The handcrafted Italian wood frame by ROMA Moulding is finished with a customizable linen liner selected to complement each image without competing with it. The choice of natural materials is not a finishing detail. It is a continuation of the work's intention.

The liner and frame add approximately fourteen inches to the finished dimensions and should be considered when planning wall placement. Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic carries a lifetime guarantee against fading and deterioration under normal display conditions.

If your space calls for dimensions beyond those listed, that conversation is always welcome before an order is placed.

Collector Edition of 25   Each image exists as twenty five prints in this presentation, worldwide. When the edition is filled, it closes permanently.

Signature Edition

Signature Edition of 50 · Lumachrome TruLife Acrylic · Gallery Float Mount

Some images do not need a frame. They need only a wall and the space to be fully themselves.

The Gallery Float Mount presents the work in its most direct form, face-mounted to Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic and suspended approximately one inch from the wall. There is no frame to mediate between the image and the room. The clean acrylic edge becomes an architectural element in its own right.

Lumachrome TruLife® renders color, depth, and tonal range with a fidelity that conventional printing cannot approach. Under halogen lighting the work responds with a radiant, glowing quality, as though the landscape itself were the source of the light rather than its subject. The acrylic is UV-resistant, anti-reflective, and scratch-resistant, and carries a lifetime guarantee against fading and deterioration under normal display conditions.

For collectors drawn to the contemporary and the architectural, or for institutional environments where a frameless presence is the right formal choice, this is the presentation that allows the psychological work of the image to operate without interruption.

Signature Edition · Metal

Signature Edition of 50 · ChromaLuxe Metal Print · Gallery Float Mount

Metal responds to light differently than any other surface in this collection. Where acrylic produces luminosity and paper produces warmth, metal produces clarity, a cool, precise rendering of color and form that suits certain images and certain spaces in ways the other presentations do not.

ChromaLuxe aluminum panels receive color as an integral part of the material itself, giving the finished work exceptional resistance to fading with no additional glazing or protective coating required. The image is fully present and unmediated, and the aluminum surface responds to ambient light in a way that shifts subtly across the day.

For collectors drawn to the contemporary and the precise, or for architectural environments where the graphic qualities of the landscape matter as much as its atmosphere, this is a presentation that is both visually commanding and materially uncompromising. The panel floats from the wall on a concealed aluminum system, frameless and complete.

Fine Art Paper

Fine Art Paper

Fine Art Edition

Fine Art Edition of 100 · Hahnemühle Baryta Fine Art Paper

Paper has its own kind of authority. It is the medium through which the long tradition of fine art printmaking has always spoken, and this option brings that tradition forward without compromising it.

Printed without acrylic, light interacts directly with the paper surface, producing a refined, tactile quality that the other presentations approach differently. Highlights remain luminous, shadows retain subtle nuance, and each image carries a quiet depth that rewards close, unhurried attention in a way that is particular to paper as a medium.

For collectors drawn to the understated, or those beginning their relationship with this collection, the fine art print offers the same archival standard and the same psychological intention as every other work in the catalog. The image is the same. The care with which it was made is the same. What differs is the surface through which it speaks.
