About the Artist

Steve Austin is a psychology professor who teaches the science this work is built on, including sensation and perception, biopsychology, and cognition. His photography is the applied expression of that science, grounded in established research in environmental psychology such as attention restoration theory and biophilia. These are landscape images designed not to decorate a space but to change how it feels to be in it.

The Mission

The research is clear. Regular exposure to nature, even photographic representations of it, reduces stress, restores attention, and supports psychological wellbeing. This collection exists to make that exposure possible every day, in the spaces where you already live and work.
