All Is Not Lost

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

ARTIST’S STORY

These trees have not been forgotten. They are remembered in every line of their trunks, in the way they still reach upward out of pure habit, in the shadows they continue to cast across the mineral flats of Yellowstone's geothermal basin. They no longer carry leaves or shelter birds or filter summer light. But they are still here, still standing, still present in a landscape that has been transformed around them beyond recognition.

I stood among them on a humid summer morning, the air thick with geothermal heat and that sharp acidic edge that Yellowstone carries in its breath. The steam was building on the horizon, slow and enormous, the way it always does out here, as if the earth is simply thinking out loud. And in the middle of all that strange and beautiful desolation, I found myself moved not by what was gone but by what remained.

The experiences these trees held are not erased. The seasons they witnessed, the storms they survived, the years of growth they accumulated before the chemistry of the soil shifted beneath them, none of that disappeared. It simply changed form. What was once a living forest is now something else entirely, a record, a testament, a place where beauty did not leave but simply learned to speak a different language.

This is what nature teaches us when we are willing to look past the surface of loss. The research on psychological restoration tells us that nature returns us to ourselves, not by offering perfection, but by showing us that transformation and devastation are not the same thing. That what endures after the worst has passed still carries meaning. Still carries beauty. Still carries the echo of everything that came before.

All Is Not Lost is for anyone who has stood in the aftermath of something difficult and wondered whether beauty could find them there. It can. It already has. It is standing right in front of you, reaching toward the light, casting shadows that prove it is still here.

Collector's Choice

Collector Edition of 25 · Lumachrome TruLife Acrylic · Roma Elite Frame

This is the complete expression of the work. The image, the materials, and the frame exist not as separate components assembled for presentation but as a unified object designed to change how a room feels to be in.

The foundation is Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic, a chromogenic photographic medium that renders color, depth, and tonal range with a fidelity that conventional printing cannot approach. Light interacts with the image surface in a way that gives the work an inner presence, a quality of being illuminated from within.

The handcrafted Italian wood frame by ROMA Moulding is finished with a customizable linen liner selected to complement each image without competing with it. The choice of natural materials is not a finishing detail. It is a continuation of the work's intention.

The liner and frame add approximately fourteen inches to the finished dimensions and should be considered when planning wall placement. Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic carries a lifetime guarantee against fading and deterioration under normal display conditions.

If your space calls for dimensions beyond those listed, that conversation is always welcome before an order is placed.

Collector Edition of 25   Each image exists as twenty five prints in this presentation, worldwide. When the edition is filled, it closes permanently.

Signature Edition

Signature Edition of 50 · Lumachrome TruLife Acrylic · Gallery Float Mount

Some images do not need a frame. They need only a wall and the space to be fully themselves.

The Gallery Float Mount presents the work in its most direct form, face-mounted to Lumachrome TruLife® Acrylic and suspended approximately one inch from the wall. There is no frame to mediate between the image and the room. The clean acrylic edge becomes an architectural element in its own right.

Lumachrome TruLife® renders color, depth, and tonal range with a fidelity that conventional printing cannot approach. Under halogen lighting the work responds with a radiant, glowing quality, as though the landscape itself were the source of the light rather than its subject. The acrylic is UV-resistant, anti-reflective, and scratch-resistant, and carries a lifetime guarantee against fading and deterioration under normal display conditions.

For collectors drawn to the contemporary and the architectural, or for institutional environments where a frameless presence is the right formal choice, this is the presentation that allows the psychological work of the image to operate without interruption.

Free shipping is included within the contiguous United States. Please allow three to four weeks for production and delivery. For international inquiries, please use the contact page.

If none of the sizes listed suit your space precisely, that conversation is always welcome before an order is placed.
